Today is July 27th, 2024, and I need a job. My degree is in Digital Media Literacy and it doesn’t complete until December. With that in mind, I’ve always wanted to earn a job in the creative technologies. Making stuff with computers that other people look at and go woah, that’s tubular! It can be difficult to integrate an artistic hobby into the world of media creation, analysis, and critique; However, we should never be afraid to try. To that end, I am making this post using a work I created with the help of visual effects. Visual Effects is a process that involves the manipulation of imagery to create or enhance a scene. This particular scene was reminiscent of my old job at Starbucks: Making steaming hot coffee. How was I going to accomplish this? Well, since I don’t have a coffee maker, I watched a tutorial by Greg Marlow Learning on YouTube to teach me how to do a few bits of the work. There are variations in my version that my predecessor did not include. If you would like to see what I changed and how I did it, well, come watch and see.
